Thank you for your interest! WISE has a variety of internships available for the varied programs in the schools surrounding our area. This component of any higher education program integrates “real world” application of the concepts taught in the classroom.
Generally speaking, an internship position is a entry-level position where the student learns the culture of an organization and gains experience dealing with supervisors, clients, and co-workers. The many different programs at WISE, any internship position will complement the intern’s long-term career goals. Many of the interns in years past have gone on to become full-time employees of WISE or other community partner agencies.
Whether this is a lower level internship for Freshman or an upper level internship for Seniors, WISE can provide a fast-paced learning environment. It is preferred that interns have a learning plan and receive a site visit from an internship coordinator to discuss the intern’s progress and evaluation process.
It may be possible to complete your internship with us, but we will need to have a little more information and follow our process. The process is as follows:
- Complete the volunteer application
- Soon after submitting your application, you should receive an email from DocuSign asking you to complete the remainder of your background check paperwork.
- The Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you to set up an interview.
- After all background checks are cleared and the interview is complete, you will be accepted as an intern or referred back to your advisor.
We look forward to working with you!
